What Sponsors Need to Know

WHILE HOSTING A WEBINAR, THERE WAS A PARTICIPANT WHO HAD TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES AND COULD NOT RESPOND TO ONE OF THE ATTENDANCE MONITORING MECHANISMS. WHAT HAPPENS NOW? CAN CPE CREDIT BE ISSUED?

We recognize that technology is not perfect. Sometimes, things happen during an event/program that might prevent an attendee from responding or recording a response to the attendance monitoring mechanisms or maybe the polling mechanism did not launch.  In cases such as these, the sponsor has some discretion in the awarding of CPE credit.

The sponsor would need to document the situation and keep the documentation with the other required program materials/documentation so that there is a record in the event that one needs to go back to participation records for any reason. If the sponsor has confidence that they can accurately award the CPE credits to the participant in these situations, then the credit can be awarded.
