Downtown Denver Sights and Stops

We couldn’t be more excited to be hosting you in the Mile High City for this year’s National Registry Summit! As you begin to pack your bags and finalize last minute details, we want to share some helpful tips and highlight some of the best downtown sights and stops Denver has to offer. From must-sees to delicious dining destinations, review the list below to enhance your travel experience.

 

Sightseeing:

16th Street Mall: This LoDo district attraction is a shopper’s dream! Tourists and residents can enjoy this mile-long stretch of shops, restaurants and more. If you find yourself carrying one too many shopping bags, take a free ride on the MallRide shuttle, which makes numerous stops along its route. 

Larimer Square: One of Denver’s oldest blocks, this historic area is home to one-of-a-kind boutiques, restaurants, bars and more. What is perhaps most notable about this area, is its canopy of lights. If you are visiting Denver, the canopy can be best described as a romantic, whimsical must-see. 

Downtown Aquarium: This aquarium is spectacular – featuring an astonishing one million gallons of exhibits! Whether you will be traveling with your family or solitary, this wholesome destination is fun for all ages!

Coors FIeldCoors Field: Whether it’s baseball season or not, people love to see where the Colorado Rockies play ball! If you have planned an extended stay in Denver, you may be able to catch the Rockies playing the Philadelphia Phillies on September 27.

Denver Art Museum: The museum is considered a “resource that sparks creative thinking and expression through transformative experiences with art.” Beginning September 16, the museum will be the only venue featuring the exhibit Rembrandt: Painter as Printmaker, which will include over 100 prints, and several paintings and drawings by the artist.

Dining:

Elway’s: Whether you are a football fanatic or a carnivore with a sophisticated palate, Elway’s is the dinner spot for you. This upscale eatery is named after NFL Hall of Famer John Elway, and features prime cuts of aged USDA steaks and an extensive wine list.

The Pig & The Sprout: Serving American classics, this bi-level restaurant in downtown Denver is an eclectic fan-favorite destination. Known for serving both hearty and light dishes, The Pig & The Sprout caters to meat-eaters and vegans alike.

Sam’s No. 3: This diner was established in 1927 and has since become a Denver mainstay, serving hearty dishes at low prices. Open until 10 p.m. or later, this restaurant boasts an extensive menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The food is so delicious that Sam’s No. 3 has garnered well over 2,000 online reviews and earned a nearly perfect rating from patrons.

Please note that the Denver International Airport is located nearly 25 miles from downtown. Public transportation options are available for your convenience, including taxis, shuttles, Uber service and the Sky Ride Bus (RTD).
