We have listened to your feedback and have curated a selection of thought leaders, industry experts and like-minded colleagues from across the nation with expertise on topics that are current and relevant to you.

Heloisa Vila, learning effectiveness and product manager at Brain Aware Training, will kick off the Summit with “The Neuroscience of Learning”. Research on the neuroscience of learning continues to evolve, adding new understanding to how the brain learns, builds memories, processes failure and shifts behavior. These findings are shaping how learning should be designed by educators and experienced by learners. At the same time, technology has completely transformed what is possible in learning making it not only faster, but also more realistic, effective and affordable, if it’s used correctly. Vila will share brain-based practices to develop learning events and how technology can support engaging learning that sticks.

The first day of the Summit will also feature the “Sponsor in the Spotlight” session. This year, we are excited to showcase TD Publishing. TD Publishing provides artificial intelligence (AI) educational programs. Their belief is that there is a need for fundamental understanding of artificial intelligence with all professionals in the future. They have designed a course to introduce concepts of artificial intelligence to CPAs. Craig Gordon, co-founder of TD Publishing, will lay the foundation about artificial intelligence, including what types of Al are in the range of attaining human-like intelligence; what Al is currently useful for; what guardrails or ethical guidelines are needed; and use of most current examples of Al's impact on the accounting profession/CPAs.

The use of AI is growing in the education and learning sectors. Ernst & Young (EY) has developed a patented AI-powered conversational skills simulation course, EY ConvoCoach™. Rita Sehgal, Learning and CPE Compliance Leader at EY, and Nick Jones, Venture Leader for EY Foundry, EY’s Corporate Venturing unit, will showcase this unique approach to learning that leverages generative AI technology with scalable verbal practice to drive skill growth in learners.

NASBA will provide an update on the status of the proposed revisions to the Standards and the timeline for final issuance.

In response to your feedback, we are providing breakout sessions to bring attendees together with similar questions, challenges and interests. Each session will focus on a key topic area so you can choose which is most meaningful to your role as a CPE provider. We hope this opportunity will allow you to network, discuss, share feedback and exchange perspectives.

The second day of the Summit will begin with keynote speaker, Sherri Sutton, Chief Unlearning Officer of Positive Impact Force, on “Elevate Engagement: Reinvent the Design of Virtual and Hybrid Meetings”. Are you ready to take your virtual and hybrid meetings to the next level? In this transformative session, Sutton will dive into the world of reinventing your meeting content to captivate and inspire your audience. Discover practical strategies and proven techniques to transform your virtual and hybrid meetings into dynamic and interactive events that leave a lasting impact. From designing interactive activities to leveraging digital tools, we will explore how to create a learner-centric environment that fosters active participation and meaningful learning.

Can't get away to Clearwater Beach for the Summit? We plan to offer the same great content and engagement that we do in person virtually.

Mark your calendars now and register for the 2023 National Registry Summit! The National Registry team looks forward to welcoming everyone to Clearwater Beach, Florida.
